Stuck on Highway 3 in NWT

Well, part of my job has been re-supplying fuel to a Tank farm in Yellowknife that supplies the Diamond Mines via the Ice Roads. The fires raging in the NWT have certainly slowed our progress. I have been stuck on highway 3 since yesterday and this is just a chapter in what has been an ongoing cycle of road closure.

Took a few shots of the woods on my last trip.

My internet signal sucks so badly I can't really post any pics.


There's clouds overhead, but we really need some rain.

It's all good. Just Diesel. The smoke is more dangerous than the fire.

People wait for highway to reopen at Big River. It did eventually reopen after 30 hours.

Taken Northbound a lone Bison separated from his herd stumbles along the highway. There were reports an entire herd perished in the fire this may be the sole survivor of that group.

Raven in Yellowknife came by to check me out.

Sky choked by smoke creates an interesting sun.
