Cristy Nicole Deweese, 21, sparked outrage from students' parents last week when it emerged that she'd featured as "Coed of the Month" in the racy magazine three years ago.

Parents at Townview Magnet High School in Dallas weren't happy when they found out about Deweese's Playboy work.

Concerned moms at Townview Magnet High School in Dallas complained after finding out she'd once gone full-frontal for her fans.

Saucy shots also showed her in winter bunny gear and lingerie, and simulating lesbian sex with another model.

Deweese is apparently relaunching her modeling career in the wake of her firing.

Neither Deweese nor the school have officially confirmed she has been sacked from her job.

But the Dallas Observer reports administrators deemed her past inappropriate, and pointed to a series of tweets sent by the ex-teacher that seem to indicate she's no longer employed.

Deweese has tweeted that she is unable to talk about her firing.

"I miss the kids, so I'm sad about that, but otherwise I'm doing fine," she tweeted, adding: "I'm just hoping they find a new teacher soon so it doesn't affect the students."

It also appears that Deweese is relaunching her modeling career, after she started a profile on the Model Mayhem website.

"I've been modeling since I was 12, quit for a while to pursue teaching and now I'm back," she wrote on the portal.

Deweese also tweeted that she's currently unable to talk about her firing, which the Observer speculated could be because she's retained a lawyer for a legal battle with the school.

Probably would be. Male teachers have been fired for similar things. In all cases I think its wrong. Posing naked does nothing to her quality of work and her students are too young go get a magazine to see. Though I imagine when they are older and find out about it they will certainly look it up. Even then, who cares? It still doesnt affect her ability to teach. Some people have really weird hangups with nudity. Those people should just get over it as it harms no one.

No, I think that the men saying it's all good, would expect a man turfed in a heart beat if their daughters had access to naked photos of him on the internet. I think the threat is viewed different depending on the genders being considered. Everyone seems to have really minimized this. How people view a female their sons have seen naked, how people view a male their daughters have seen naked. How people view a female posing for homoerotica, and how they view a man doing the same. If the gender was switched on this, I doubt it would have made the news. A male would have been fired so fast his head was left spinning, and no one would sympathize with him.

I'd have to disagree. I doubt that they are the exact same groups. I think there are people who see naked women as no problem, and naked men as threatening. Female homoeroticism as no problem, and male as gross/predatory.

Sure there is a double standard but that goes both ways.

Here in Massachusetts a male judge let a woman go for sex with a minor and said outright that if it had been a man and a female minor he would have thrown the book at him.

I mean legally. Yeah, they can still get it if they are determined but thats not the teachers fault. Plus really, kids probably dont collect porn magazines anymore. Google is a lot easier.

Here's a prime example Eagle. I highly doubt a male teacher who'd posed naked in simulated gay sex scenes, would get a 'much ado about nothing' from coldstream.
