Grocery Store Named After Obama Charged With Food Stamp Fraud…

After Obama’s election in 2009 a small grocery store/convenience store in Florida changed its name to the Obama Express. Several other stores across the country did the same thing. One of those was a location in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, in 2013, the Maryland outlet is under investigation, accused of illegally trafficking in food stamps.


On September 17, WBAL reported that nine retailers in Baltimore County had been arrested for illegally redeeming food stamps for cash and kicking back a portion to food stamp recipients. The retailers did not sell them any merchandise or food.


One of those indicted was one Abdullah Aljaradi who allegedly obtained $2 million in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cash from Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards.

I just know that when the truth comes out, they will all be Republicans trying to make Obama look bad (as usual).

While food stamps have never been 'perfect', they have 'blunted' the edge of deficiency diets and hunger in children diets prevalent before 1964. KIds get fed, and the crime rate for food stamps is still rather low.

Nelson Aldrich and the Republicans pushed through the Income Tax Amendment that subsidized business lunches for wealthy elites. That's a form of food stamps that the right wing applauds.

Business lunches are not subsidized. They are only tax exempt like any other expense. You still have to come up with the coin.

Food stamps = business lunch

Does that mean that thousands of jobs will be created by the recipients of food stamps and that the GDP will grow and the standard of living will improve and that wealth will be created by food stamps?

Interesting enough- yes, if the programme is reformed. Malnutrition in children produces adults who are sub functional.
