Hours After Jail Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (TheBlaze/AP) — A man suspected of beating an elderly Alaska couple to death and sexually assaulting their 2-year-old great-granddaughter over the weekend had been released from jail just hours earlier, according to Alaska Department of Corrections records.

Jerry Andrew Active, 24, was released from the Anchorage Correctional Complex where he was doing time for a probation violation shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, according to the Anchorage Daily News. The attacks on the couple and the toddler occurred less than 12 hours later after he got into an apartment on the east side of the city by climbing in through an open window, police said.

Interesting how they refer to him as "a man". In no way, shape or form does this monster deserve to be described as such. Hopefully this animal will remain behind bars where he clearly belongs.

Why would bail for any amount even be a consideration?

The "Three Strikes" law would have been quite appropriate in his case!

I don't think it would have been appropriate at all!

There are certain types of crimes that simply should NOT be released without serious psych evals and community watch. Violent sexual assault of strangers' children is one of those types of crimes. That is the pinnacle of 'mad dog' behaviour, and his path from there was predictable.

BTW, there are time I loathe the use of 'suspected' in an article, and when you are FOUND at the scene of a crime, amidst dead bodies, raping a child, it makes me see ****ing red to see 'suspected' in the article.

You've hit the nail on the head and those should be the candidates for Ol' Sparky or the rope!

I kind of liked the 'cover him in fish oil and set him free in bear country' comment from the article.

That's too easy on them. Keep them as healthy as possible and make them suffer for the rest of their miserable lives.

This guy isn't a nutcase if he was too ashamed to show his face when cameras were on him, then he knows what he did was wrong and should spend the rest of his life hating himself for doing what he did.

Killing him would be an out JLM. Make him suffer and live with it just like the family of those he killed will have to suffer for the rest of their lives.

He is going to be alone in a 5 x 8 concrete box and only breath fresh air for one hour a week for the next 50-60 years.

Loneliness is the worst pain anyone can suffer.

It's beats supporting the bastards, also precludes any chances of reoffending.

How about you start a dedicated thread and link to the OP's you feel support your position? Because you highjack way too many threads with this.

I haven't highjacked ANY threads, Karrie.............pretty hard to separate crime from punishment!

Yep, that's certainly a viable alternative. I just kind of begrudge the money spent to feed, clothe and medicate these bastards, money that would be better spent helping the surviving victims.
