SASKATOON – Saskatoon police say they have safety concerns about a man with no arms who was caught driving without wearing a seatbelt.
The man was pulled over last week and ticketed as part of a traffic blitz.
Police spokeswoman Alyson Edwards says the man told officers he has been stopped several times before, but never fined because he can’t do up the belt when he’s alone in his car.
The man drives a modified vehicle using his feet.
Edwards says wearing a seatbelt is the law and the man has no medical exemption allowing him to drive without one.
She says senior officers are to meet with the man to discuss the ticket and how he can apply for an exemption.
