Does Political Correctness have a limit?????

Hamilton BBQ restaurant proudly displaying confederate flag vandalized

The owners of Hillbilly Heaven are expecting its best Wednesday turnout despite the soon-to-be opened second-location of the restaurant being vandalized.
The southern-style BBQ joint made headlines earlier this week for proudly displaying a confederate flag in its window.
Cameron Bailey, one of the owners of the restaurant, said he had his best Tuesday in three years and is not at all worried about the vandalism.
“This is the tip of the iceberg. There’s going to be a lot more of this, but whatever,” Bailey said.
The restaurant’s infamous confederate flag had blotches of black paint splattered on it, and the side of the restaurant had “Antifa zone” sprayed onto the black wall. While Bailey insists the flag is not a representation of superiority, the words “Antifa” is a reference to anti-fascism and seems to be a response to the flag.

Ignorant illiterate vandals... At least they could have gotten their slur correct. The Confederates were white supremacists and pro-Slavery, not Nazis...

Oh boy, yet another topic you know nothing about, lol.

Don't you ever get tired of embarrassing yourself posting such stupidity?

I mean even if you're trolling, painting yourself in such a negative light is rather silly.

EAO has a difficult time with actual history. You cannot expect him to fully understand the Southern Confederacy and all the complex issues regarding the U.S Civil War. His mind is incapable of rational thought.

Not a theory - It has been proven time and again. The bliss ends when they have to apologize. It then results in an apoplectic fit.
An apoplectic fit
an apoplectic fit
The OED defines apoplexy:

A malady, very sudden in its attack, which arrests more or less completely the powers of sense and motion; it is usually caused by an effusion of blood or serum in the brain, and preceded by giddiness, partial loss of muscular power, etc.

Actually the old south was about much more than slavery or fascism, it was also about a separation
of living conditions in some cases. For example the North was moving toward urban lifestyles and
the south was still steeped in rural agrarian culture. Yes there was slavery and class conditions but
it was much more than all that.
It seems to me that by social condition not geographical location America is somewhat like that today.
We see whole sections of the country mostly but not all Rural being more conservative and part of the
old values of America pitted against the urban and population influx believing in entirely different
things. This does not mean those more conservative folks are Nazis, or pro slavery, it means they have
a different view of the country and they are resistant to change.
To discuss all the things that led up to the civil war we would need to shut down the rest of the topics in
my view. The confederate flag, was made the symbol of slavery and negative things by the perception
of people who did not fully take into account what the battle was really about.
I think the Confederate Flag is held out as a defiant poster from the south by a group that lost the war
but never gave up their ideals.
Is a flag offensive? Flying the Swastika would in my view be a little offensive, but the Confederate Flag,
not enough to warrant damage to a cafe.
The Confederate Flag is an undeniable part of American History, and I don't believe it was ever made
illegal by the American Government. If it was I stand corrected

I'd hazard a guess that it would make a difference who your ancestors were, and what flags they may have died under.

Of course the US views the swastika, image linked to evil foreigners, differently than it does the confederate flag, an image linked to good old boys who still live there. But, I'm willing to bet there are black citizens living in the US who view the two as practically interchangeable.

Now, that's not to say vandalism is right, but, it's also not surprising.
