According to Shibani Joshi, a Fox Business reporter, Germany has a very successful solar industry (30% of electric power generation) compared to the US because they receive more sunlight than the US, and not because Germany has feed-in tariiffs that mandate utilities to accept solar generation onto their grids, and pay those consumers who supply their excess power to the grid.
