He of the 'Chocolate City' infamy. Seems he was quite a dirtbag too:

Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was indicted Friday on charges that he used his office for personal gain, accepting payoffs, free trips and gratuities from contractors while the city was struggling to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The charges against Mr. Nagin are the outgrowth of a City Hall corruption investigation that already has resulted in guilty pleas by two former city officials and two businessmen and a prison sentence for a former city vendor.

For Gods sake this is Louisiana the official state of corruption. Anyone ever heard
of Huey Long? Actually he was a mixed bag of nice guy and despot. This state has
produced the best of corrupt officials and both sides of the political isle have been in
the forefront at one time or another.
If this were any other state in the Union, I would be a little surprised not in the Big
Easy however.
This is Louisiana is this even news?

Agreed, here there is not likely the same amount of opportunity plus we have a different system I think we steal in more of a white collar way.
