It's sad when this sh*t makes news headlines in a so-called respectable publication. No wonder the world is going to Hell in a hand basket!

That would have been my question.
The "Tour de France" is surely the pinnacle of cycling. The seven times this jerk won the thing using performance enhancing
drugs, he stole from honest competitors who didn't use drugs. I feel sorry for those who struggled and fought to win, only to lose
to this fake. Armstrong is an a$$ hole. Oprah did all the honest competitors a great disservice by having him on her show.

Prior to testing how many athletes used enhancing substances? Are they still Champions?

He got them all taken away from him, he's disgraced, and because he also defamed others who were telling the truth by clling them lyers, we'll see if that becomes any kind of court case for him. defamation has laws against it.

What more punishment do you want?

You got it, #Juan! The jerk was taken back to where he started (no medals) when he embarked on this Odyssey of scam, sham and flim flam. He lost NOTHING, materialistically!

Drugs or no drugs he still proved the potential of what a human can do.

The winner of the Tour de France gets 450,000 Euros plus another million or so in other perks. Did he give
that back?

I understand people's anger because I never believed he didn't and that is sad. My question would be...are there athlete's that don't use? Do they win?

I have a report to write. I am going to do some serious blood doping and get a bonus.

k...'cause our expectations just seem to rise and rise and there has to come a time when the human body just can not do the 1 millionth of a second faster

Believe me... the stuff works. Even the stuff you can buy over the counter at GNC... supplements... work well. I can imagine what the illegal stuff does.

There are no honest cyclers. The sport is one of the most corrupt that there is. But certainly nobody else had quite the drug regime as Lance did and he certainly got rewarded because of it.

And it is my understanding that the only reason he is coming clean at all is in hopes of having his ban lifted.

does anyone think his drug use had anything to do with his cancer?

Remember when MLB cracked down on the steroids and Sammy Sosa went from a home run king to a skinny guy who could barely get it out of the infield?

I don't know. They seem to believe more and more that we all have cancer cells in our body at various times in our life. Whether or not it progresses into a problem seems to be when our immune system is weak. Taking any kind of body enhancing drug would have to mess up the regular chemistry thus leaving the body vulnerable in ways we do not even understand yet.

Marshall McLuhan; "Celebrity is news. Everything else is entertainment".
Personally I couldn't give two hoots about Armstrong. Or Oprah either, for that matter. And cycling isn't even a sport of interest to me.

I agree that he now has sunk to that area where all of the others went from other sports, BUT if you
think he won over others who were clean, is living in a fantasy land. Cycling is one of the dirtiest
sports and has been for a very long time, so sure he deserves whatever trashing he gets but he isn't
any different than the rest of the sport, the only difference is, he won so many times, then it becomes
all about the money for everyone, not about the cycling world at all.
