An Ontario Superior Court judge has taken the novel step of granting a divorce to a same-sex couple over legal objections from the federal Crown.

Madam Justice Ruth Mesbur ruled that same-sex civil partnerships from foreign countries that don’t permit same-sex marriages can nonetheless qualify as marriages under Canadian law.

Nice to see another segment of Canadian society is fitting in and taking advantage
of the rights and freedoms we all have. Does this mean they have now been
recognized as part of the main stream and the parades can official end this year?
Just a question.

Nope.

The mainstream gay community spends 364 days a year just being like everybody else, so the freaks can ruin all their hard work.

It's a cyclical thing, like locusts and cicada's.

Actually the parade is becoming mainstream when you think about it. There
are crowds gathered to watch, it brings money into the merchant stores and
even some of the financial institutions are playing a role.
Too bad more politicians from different parties were not more involved after
all there is an old saying politics make for strange bed fellows

Mayors are apparently obligated to put in an appearance even if they don't want to.

It has been almost 10 years, if this is one of the first divorces, then you really have to give them a tip of the hat.
