Bizarre story. Studying criminology no less. She could have become Canada's Female Dexter had she become an expert in Blood Spatter.

Animal killer Kayla Bourque released to live in Vancouver

A former Simon Fraser University student who was convicted of torturing and killing animals and admitted to wanting to kill homeless people has been released from jail and will live in Vancouver.

Kayla Bourque, 23, was convicted in November of causing unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to animals, wilfully and without lawful excuse killing animals, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Child pornography charges she was facing were stayed.
She was sentenced to one month in jail on each of the charges, but had already spent six months in custody by the time she was sentenced. The judge then ordered her to serve an addition two months in custody, in part so probation officials could prepare for her highly supervised release.

The former SFU criminology student has admitted to taking delight in killing animals and fantasizing about shooting homeless people. Several psychologists who interviewed Bourque found she showed no remorse or insight into her crimes.
On Monday morning, B.C.'s Ministry of Justice confirmed Bourque was released on probation after serving just over seven months in custody.

"Bourque has an escalating criminal history," said the public notification issued by the ministry. "She has offended violently against both people and animals and is considered high risk to reoffend."
She will be closely monitored by authorities and will have to abide by 46 court-ordered conditions that will severely restrict her movements and activities, said officials.

Yeah we have another thread on her somewhere debating some of the odd release conditions placed on her, such as not being allowed to have knives or tape.

Why not give her a job in meat packing on the kill floor in Brookes AB?

She can work out her frustrations by killing all day for $20 something an hour with full loonie tune benefits not carried by the taxpayer

So my frame of mind today must be.......hm I don't know ... I am finding everything quite humorous *well ... maybe only the black stuff*

So did anyone else find irony in the fact that you have to watch a commercial first before buddy begins his less than useless analysis on the upcoming sure to be a headliner psychopath...AND...the commercial was about...organ donation... *falls on floor laughing*

So here are the points that stood out for me... buddy there KNOWS she is going to re-offend and he measured each and every word before he spoke it.

Not crimes that would carry a huge penalty… obviously then they should be crimes that carry a huge penalty because we KNOW they forshadow what is to come...this is like a bad novel...seriously

Trying to block her from doing anything to human beings? WTF? Yeah that's the kind of person I want for my neighbour...one whom they are trying to block from carving me up...thanks for the attempt

“if it works” ARE YOU KIDDING ME "IF" I really don't like the use of the word if there... could be just me but if it doesn’t someone or a lot of someones will be dead… oops

She will likely require supervision for the rest of her life. at least they got that no-brainer right

Other doctors described her as a sexual sadist and narcissist with an anti-social personality disorder and sociopathic tendencies. Wow, that's a mouthful...I think someone is likely to take her out...not that I think that is right but ??? oops

All those rules she has to follow. Somebody has to enforce them. I wonder if it might be cheaper to just leave her in jail...

Actually, it's a very sad story. My wife watched something years ago about the orphans in Romania- many of the kids in their formative years never got to bond with any adult, which tends to leave them totally devoid of any personality or compassion!

I hear what you are saying but now at twenty three years old she doesn't sound like someone you'd want to turn your back on..
