Well duh.

These swollen Mensa-like brains might be an indicator of potential. A high IQ on its own is a guarantee of high expectations, nothing else..

The idea that intelligence can be measured by a single number — your IQ — is wrong, according to a recent study led by researchers at the University of Western Ontario.

The study, published in the journal Neuron on Wednesday, involved 100,000 participants around the world taking 12 cognitive tests, with a smaller sample of the group undergoing simultaneous brain-scan testing.

“When we looked at the data, the bottom line is the whole concept of IQ — or of you having a higher IQ than me — is a myth,” said Dr. Adrian Owen, the study’s senior investigator and the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Imaging at the university’s Brain and Mind Institute. “There is no such thing as a single measure of IQ or a measure of general intelligence.”

Rather, the study determined three factors — reasoning, short-term memory and verbal ability — that combined to create human intelligence or “cognitive profile.”

IQ testing is used by many educators to measure intelligence, including in public schools in Ontario.

Teddy claims to be a member so the test can't be that hard. Long as you put your pants on before your boots , you're in.

I took the one on line and for part of it I was distracted with other things and still got 66%, it didn't say what a pass was. I'm certainly not the brightest candle on the cake, but probably a few notches up on the "Mensa Kid." Anyway a bright mind is an asset, but absolutely useless, if there is no common sense, no organization for planning, no discipline for persevering, or lack of patience. Many people fail solely because they don't feel like doing something they should be doing.

IQ testing measures how good you are at taking IQ tests, that's about it. I've long suspected it was bogus, the notion of reducing something as complex as human intelligence to a single number just doesn't have the ring of good sense about it. Stephen Jay Gould did a fine deconstruction of the whole concept in a book called The Mismeasure of Man years ago, and Gould was a guy with a deep understanding of statistics. I think he would know. Besides, some of the supposedly highest IQ people I know are total boneheads who believe the most preposterous things. Double besides, I have at various times in my life scored from around 100 to 166 on IQ tests. No question which extreme I'd like to believe, but with a range like that on supposedly standardized and normalized tests, ya gotta wonder about their utility.

lol Research backing up what most people know, or should know. High IQ is no guarantee of many things, including success at business, gaining high levels of education, etc. Even Mensa said there are people of all kinds as members.
Intelligence goes far past what IQ tests can measure.

lol Turnout gear. Pants lay around boots ...... jump into boots, yank pants up, and secure.
