Just heard on the news that the "big money" boys who contributed to their "war chest" are in high dudgeon. Beautiful! If they had any brains they'd keep it to themselves. Actually I think contributions to political parties should be outlawed. I don't suppose for a minute that the Dems don't have any fewer sleezy supporters. Anyway politicians are not there to help the common man.

Of course the Democrats have supporters with dubious backgrounds, primarily due to the fact that large businesses in the US tend to support both the Democrats and the Republicans. This is not due to any interest in democracy, of course, quite the contrary; it simply insures that politicians in both major parties stay bought.

Sore losers.

The focus now should be on unifying divisions and cooperation. Obama now seeks legacy, not re-election. Both sides must compromise.

“The biggest single donor in political history, the casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson, mingled with other Romney backers at a postelection breakfast, fresh off a large gamble gone bad. Of the eight candidates he supported with tens of millions of dollars in contributions to “super PACs,” none were victorious on Tuesday.”

“But while outside spending affected the election in innumerable ways — reshaping the Republican presidential nominating contest, clogging the airwaves with unprecedented amounts of negative advertising and shoring up embattled Republican incumbents in the House — the prizes most sought by the emerging class of megadonors remained outside their grasp. President Obama will return to the White House in January, and the Democrats have strengthened their lock on the Senate.”

“The election’s most lavishly self-financed candidate fared no better. Linda E. McMahon, a Connecticut Republican who is a former professional wrestling executive, spent close to $100 million — nearly all of it her own money — on two races for the Senate, conceding defeat on Tuesday for the second time in three years.”

Well, he flushed his own money. He tried to slit ROmney's throat when he was backing Gingrich for the presidential race. Trashing a candidate, then trying to run them.... not a surprise they won't make it.

The pendulum will swing. It always does. I heard all this doom and gloom before in 2008... then came 2010.

Pointing out that a fallacy of the TP was to believe they could buy the election may be seen as getting our licks in, Eagle.........I prefer to think it is in the hope that Republicans realize that many of us believe the party has good ideas to offer. That by cutting the fanatics lose will give them a much better chance in the next election.
