Seems the cops in Calgary are in need of a remedial law course, and maybe a course in empathy.
I might also suggest a course in basic humanity but the truth is you either have it or you don't. What would possess a homicide detective to say to a grieving mother "Don't worry, you're not hurting
my feelings."? What would possess anyone to say that??? When a grieving mother is lashing out from anger and fear and pain, you do not retort, you freaking sit there, suck it up and take it.
My heart goes out to that woman, losing a child is the greatest sorrow I can imagine anyone could ever go through. She showed remarkable strength, class and dignity throughout that video clip and I sincerely hope she is successful in her quest to see real changes come about for how these cases are handled.
