Time to reset the "Number of Days Since Mass Shooting" clock

BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Three people are dead in a mass shooting that took place at the Azana Spa near the Brookfield Square Mall at about 11:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the Brookfield police chief.


The alleged shooter, a 45-year-old Brown Deer man, has not yet been located.

He is identified as Radcliffe Haughton. He is the estranged husband of one of the spa workers.

At about 3:30 p.m., Brookfield Police Chief Daniel Tushaus said that the salon has not been cleared. Swat teams are still searching the building He said as they were in the process of clearing it, they found what was believed to be an improvised explosive device, which hampered their efforts.

Haughton's car, a 2003 black Mazda Protege with license plate No. 171-KZD, has been located, Tushaus said.

There are FBI hostage negotiators and ATF agents at the scene. The Milwaukee bomb squad is also at the scene.

A Froedtert Hospital spokeswoman said the hospital had received four other victims, who had noncritical gunshot injuries.

Froedtert Hospital is on lockdown. New patients are only being admitted with a police escort. Employees are being told to report to work. Children's Hospital's lockdown has been lifted.

Multiple roads in the area are blocked off. Moorland Road between Bluemound Road and the Interstate 94 ramps is closed.
