A Dallas woman who beat her 2-year-old daughter and glued the toddler’s hands to a wall was sentenced Friday to 99 years in prison.
Elizabeth Escalona faced from probation to life in prison, and prosecutors had sought 45 years behind bars.

So, will people complain about how this activist judge disregarded the prosecutors and the defence? Prosecution sought 45 years, the judge gave her 99.

Probably a pretty stupid move by the judge actually. Such a ruling is just begging to be repealed.

The woman should have beaten up enough toddlers to push it outside of the monkey sphere. Then ironically she would have received a lighter sentence.

Im sure she'll get it reduced a fair bit on appeal. Sounds like a horrible person but 99 years is excessive. If she killed the kid then I'd be fine with 99 years.

... of course we'll complain. the bar, and that includes judges, have no right to interfere in the actions of others ...
