The reason I am posting this, is to remind you to donate $20 to help families that can't afford school supplies, get them for their children.
I was out for a drive today going for a drive on the new Stony Trail and turned off on Country Village Road - there I stopped at a store and saw across the street a drive for donations.. It's just an FYI article if you feel up to it..
Back-to-school can be a challenging time for the millions of Canadians and their families living near or below the poverty line. That’s why The Salvation Army raises funds and partners with organizations in the community to purchase supplies and assist families in need of help.
This year, numerous Staples locations across the region helped students in their community by collecting donations in-store during the busy back-to-school shopping season.
One of these locations, the Staples in Lower Sackville, NS, presented the local Corps with a donation of more than $670, as well as five boxes of school supplies. The supplies were distributed to students at A.J. Smeltzer Junior High and Centennial Elementary School in Lower Sackville.
