Gun play (another idiot euphemism the media can do away with) on Toronto’s streets has claimed another life this week after a man in his 20s was gunned down in a Lawrence Heights schoolyard Thursday morning.
Police were called to the scene in the yard of Flemington Public School, near Lawrence Avenue West and Allen Road, around 1:30 a.m.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several people were reportedly seen fleeing the area after the gunfire erupted, but police haven’t said exactly how many suspects they’re looking for.
A CityNews cameraman at the scene said police called out to the crowd that had gathered that officers needed to speak with witnesses, but they were met by a wall of silence.
