Outstanding.

A toddler cried in pain after a stray bullet grazed her leg.

The two year old, who was with her mom, had been attending a family barbecue and was dangling her legs out of the window of a parked car on Saturday night, near Keele St. and Sheppard Ave., said Toronto Police Staff-Sgt. Ken Boyle.

“All of a sudden, she started crying,” said Boyle, adding the toddler’s mother spotted a wound on her leg.

She was taken to the hospital where medical personnel determined the injury was a bullet wound.

“It looks like it was a random round of gunfire from somewhere,” said Boyle, noting police don’t know where the shot came from.

He added there were no other shootings were reported in the area.

“Sometimes people just fire bullets into the air,” said Boyle. “Maybe someone was shooting at someone else and missed, but we’re not aware of that.”

The little girl required a couple of stitches and was released from hospital, said Boyle.
