London is a very volitile place at this point in time. How many months back
was it now that the Totingham riots where taking place? Not long ago...

Housing & poverty & immigration issues are coming to a head, and the Olympics
(and the surrounding spending) are going to be like pouring gasoline on a fire.
Could be a very nasty situation.

maybe they'll do what Vancouver did. Lie through their teeth pomising all kinds of social housing from the athlete village then turn around and just up and sell them off.

The venue of the Olympics in its present form has long outlived its usefulness.
It is time to reign the whole thing in financially or bid it goodbye. The people of
BC and London are both dishonest wastes of money. It is a sad situation when
we put the profits of a few at the expense of the social fabric of the nation.
I am not against sport, I am against the idea that the business surrounding the
event becomes more important than the event itself.
