Three cars were burnt and property vandalized with anti-Semitic slurs overnight in Brooklyn and authorities have now classified the attack as a hate crime.

The incident occurred along a tree-lined stretch of Ocean Parkway in the Midwood section flanked by synagogues and yeshivas that serve the neighborhood's largely Orthodox community.

Authorities said that swastikas and slurs were painted on eight park benches that line the wide sidewalk along a stretch of Ocean Parkway.

The attack shocked residents in the normally quiet neighborhood and several noted that it came on the anniversary of the infamous "Kristallnacht" attack on Jews in November 1938. The "Kristallnacht" attack was a series of attacks of Jews and their property during the early days of Nazi Germany.

"This has really unnerved the community," Dov Hikind, a state Assemblyman who represents the 48th District and prominent community leader, said after visiting the scene.

The fires broke out near 907 Ocean Parkway around 5:30 a.m., authorities said.
"KKK" was spray-painted across a van and benches were marred by references to the "SS" and scrawled with swastikas.

"F--k Jews" was spray-painted on the sidewalk.
