"After nearly nine years, America's war in Iraq will be over," President Obama said Friday, announcing full withdrawal of U.S. troops by year's end.

"Today I can say that our troops in Iraq will definitely be home for the holidays," he said.

Obama said the United States will continue its interest in a strong, stable Iraq after U.S. troops leave.

about time. After all, the military bases are built, the massive embassies are up and running.....so it will be easy to " continue its interest ........."

All US troops will be pulled out of Iraq by the end of 2011 - nearly nine years after the invasion, President Barack Obama has announced.

.......at the risk of sounding jaded: another step towards being re elected . But either way: it is still a good thing.

what is missed is that there is a modern version of "imperialism" going on. Invading and occupying is taking a different form in this era.

the "occupation " is done by making sure there are plenty of military basis there with massive communication technologies in their massive embassies.

they are trying to be more subtle than the imperialists were in the past. and are going out of their way to involve other nations for appearances sake.

Let's not be naive. Imperialism in that old Chinese style or old British style is not the style of today. Buut that does not mean that imperialism isn't taking place.

Cousin Barry O’Bomba is pandering to his base again… sure. But the REAL reason for feigning American troop Withdrawal, is that the Iraqi’s have denied the essential blanket of Immunity from prosecution of War Crimes. This could set Obama on a politically dangerous road to embarrassment. So what do you do if you are Kissinger and Z Big (Obama’s primary foreign policy handlers)? You head fake.

Wishful thinking MHz? WHo enjoyed this war more than you? Maybe Breezy did but you were pretty close.
You mean the one that started when Saddam went into Kuwait to stop the sland drilling into his oilfiels?

Also, there is evidence that Kuwait was engaged in slant-drilling of Iraqi oil, under the border. As one oil executive put it, slant-drilling is enough to get you shot in Texas or Oklahoma.

Considering what is going on in the Arab world who would want to lay claim to being in charge of anything over there?

Speak for yourself smacker. You love wars, guns and your garden variety violence. If you have not concluded yet that I am opposed to killing on the basis of lies, manipulation and other crazy "reasons".......then, one can only pity you as you will never get it and that is as far as anyone can go with you.

Your skills like in poster bashing and making accusations that are not true, invalid and plain childish.

are we helping any by meddling and slaughtering key polticial figures and then celebrating their murder???
