ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police say a New Mexico man pretending to be police officer pulled over a real Albuquerque Police Department detective and is facing charges.
KOB-TV reports (Man says he did not impersonate cop* | KOB.com ) that Tyree Appleberry was given the citation Wednesday on charges of impersonating a police officer then arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Suspect’s Cell Phone Dials 911 During Burglary
NEW CASTLE (KDKA) — Three people are facing charges – all because a thief’s cell phone dialed 911 during a burglary.
Police say the men allegedly broke into a garage in the 500-block of Harber Street in New Castle.
According to investigators, when 911 got the call, they heard male voices and a lot of noise and figured a burglary was in progress.
Dispatchers pinged the call, got the address and sent a police officer to the scene. When police got there, the officer saw three males in a truck filled with metal and pulled them over on Bell Avenue.
The men were then arrested.
