TORONTO - A 37-year-old man, who runs a “daddy daycare” in Oshawa and is a part-time mall Santa, has been arrested for possession of child pornography.
An undercover Internet operation, which began last November and involved Toronto Police and OPP, led to the execution of a search warrant at a home on King St. E. Wednesday, Durham Regional Police said Wednesday.
“A number of computers were seized and a male occupant was arrested and charged with a number of child pornography offences,” Det. Randy Norton said. “A large collection of child pornography was also seized off computer hard drives.”
The accused allegedly operates Kids Matter Family Daycare out of the same residence.
Police said the man ran the same daycare out of a home in Ajax, on Thorogood St., for six months before moving to Oshawa last November.
He has also worked as a Santa Claus in an assortment of malls across the GTA.
