Just my subjective preference.... It'd look neat and tidy if they were all grouped in one area of the front lawn and contained within one large boxed in area... but the way it looks in that photo, it's spread out and cluttered lookin.
Totally ridiculous- water belongs on the land upon which it falls until nature disperses it.
Egypt and Ethiopia nearly went to war over Ethiopia planning to build a hydro-electric dam on its part of the Nile River. Egypt of course argued Ethiopia does not have a right to divert the natural flow of water. Strict sovereignty of course would argue that Ethiopia was right. Global considerations though would argue otherwise. In the end, Ethiopia bakced down from the hydro project.
We had a similar argument with the US at one stage when the US was thinking of exploiting water from the Great Lakes, but only on its side of the lakes of course. Needless to say, it woud have affected our side too, but in the end the US did back down so as to maintain friendly relations.
Water conflicts are becoming ever more prevalent in the world.
I was thinking more of the stench.
Mine is 7' 1/2...they don't check. Why would they send somebody with a tape to see how high my fence is when it takes years to get a yard of asphalt to grade the damn gutters?
This incident took place in Oakland County which is predominantly Republican.Quote has been trimmed, See full post:
Oakland County elected officials
County Executive: L. Brooks Patterson (Republican)
Prosecuting Attorney: Jessica R. Cooper (Democrat)
Sheriff: Mike Bouchard (Republican)
County Clerk/Register of Deeds: Bill Bullard, Jr. (Republican)...
Mine's 6ft arount the back, and every couple of years, the city does a
blitz to piss off the working guys, ignoring the abondoned lots overgrown
with weeds, many of which I'm assuming are owned by the city due to
unpaid tax's, etc....Selective bylaw enforcement....gotta love it.
They made me take down my barb-wire coils off the top of the fence (it
made the fence more than 6'6" & would have been a barrier to police and
firefighters, I was told), and others that had unlicenced vehicles in their
back yards that weren't in enclosed structures, etc...
I've still got about 3/4 of a mile of coiled barb-wire sitting that I'll put back
up some day once my dogs have lived through their lives. It wasn't up to
prevent police from entering my yard, but the other criminals with no
respect for others property.
I dug a trench along the back fence so if anyone jumps over they fall another 2 unexpected feet (if they land evenly) or one leg keeps going while the other piles up their ***. Someday I'll pound rebar as stakes in the trench to make matters more "uncomfortable".
