On a whim I picked a used paperback book written by Anne McCaffrey. Was introduced to sci-fi age 15 by English teacher and read these for decades (am 60 now), however, am having trouble getting into it for I think I have outgrown sci-fi now. I usually read informative non-fiction.

Actually, it is the story of how an entire town was abandoned to thugs by a Liberal government so afraid of a native uprising that they refused to enforce the law.

Absolutely outrageous!

People arrested for raising the Canadian flag in public.

Seriously.

Anyway.....now I'm reading Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Scary stuff.

The movie is fantastic.... never read the book though, although usually i find the book is better than the movie so i can imagine how good this book is ,

America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It by Mark Steyn

A book that drew the ire of Muslims in Canada, and forced Steyn to deal with our Kafkaesque HRCs when excerpts were printed in Macleans magazine.....

A book that should be mandatory reading.

I can't overstate how interesting this book is, how scary, how important.

Buy it, read it.

Have you developed some kind of obsession with me?

Is it love?....or are you just stalking me?

Do you want to be my valentine?

Speaking of psychosis...........

How was "Stoner"?

I'm currently reading "Motherless Brooklyn" by Johnathon Lethem. The premise alone is what sold me - detective with tourette's symdrome.

Nomad by Ayaan Hirsi Ali

but you need to read Infidel first, by the same author.

A wise, intelligent, determined woman.....although an atheist, I can forgive her that.

I was able to put it down when I would turn to my roommate and say "what the hell is wrong with the Netherlands?"
