These are the westerns that iI have seen as a kid , in Poland ,before '64....
Stage Coach , Vera Cruse , Winchester 73 , Rio Bravo ,High Noon and Shane .
The one I liked the most was ...........Shane .
The Searchers
I love westerns, and I don't know if this counts, but I have the complete
lonesome dove mini series, and we watch it in it's entirety at least every
two years.
I love it. I have the tv series as well, but mini series group was better.
And, many others.
Big Country, Gregory Peck
Unforgiven, Clint Eastwood, and I could go on and on.
All the westerns directed by Anthony Mann (usually starring James Stewart): Winchester 73, Bend of the River, The Naked Spur, The Far Country, The Man From Laramie. Not as well known as some others but all excellent.
Tombstone - best western ever, bar none. Saw it at least six times. Val Kilmor as Doc Holiday was brilliant.
Unforgiven, The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Hang 'em High, A Fistful of Dollars, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider. All great movies that I enjoy a lot.
How come no one has mentioned Young Guns?;-)
I saw that one, very good.( wasn't there two?)
How the west was won, paint your wagon, who shot liberty valance, oldies.
the cowboys, john wayne, and many other john wayne westerns, saw most
of them, liked them all, except maybe a few very old ones.
