Who gig in Leeds again

Harewood House -

THE Who are to play their first gig in Leeds since a concert there turned the group into rock legends 36 years ago.

The 1970 album Live At Leeds is rated among the best-ever live records.

Now surviving members Roger Daltrey, 61, and Pete Townshend, 60 — who have never been back — plan an open-air gig in the city in June.

More than 2,000 students crammed into the refectory at Leeds University for the first gig and 1,000 listened on the roof.

The June concert will take place in the grounds of stately home Harewood House.

We had a nice record store here that was closing; I found on sale the double CD with Live at Leeds along with the LIVE performance of TOMMY from the same concert.

There was a nice writeup on Bluetone at giraffecycle.com with lots of photos. Used to browse that forum until they go fussy and shut it out to casual viewers :(

I've never listened to them, although I have a book which is all about crazy and stupid things that people have done and one of the chapters describes how The Who set fire to hotel rooms and Keith Moon, the drummer, once drove a car into a swimming pool.
