I had the pleasure of watching the 2004 Glastonberry Festival last night. Just a few of the great performances given were by Morrissey,Oasis,The Snow Patrol and Joss Stone. Oh yeah,Sir Paul McCartney was also on the bill. I wouldn't have watched the Hollywood lovefest[Oscars] for all the money in the world!

300 bands,9 stages-and all in a 3 day span! At my advanced age,it would be far too dangerous for me to attend such an event. But,160,000 people! And hardly any problems, discounting the odd bit of rain that fell. You're a lucky gent :D

I'm getting there, missile. A few years ago some of us old-stagers were a bit resentful of the way the festival was becoming more and more commercialised; now I'm all in favour of better organisation, even if it just makes it easier to find my tent! :D

We understand the reasons why these outdoor concerts have to be so organized now-security,toilets, cleanups, heck!just the cost of bringing in all those bands! When I was younger,I thought the promotors were just ripping everyone off. But,after seeing some of the riders in band's contracts, now I wonder how they even make a buck.Profit doesn't seem like such a dirty word now.
