According to Rolling Stone (who of course wish to sell magazines and such), the list of the 100 best geetarists is out. Time to criticize moan and wail. And check for your own self, I won't spoil it for ya.

Mark Knopfler and Chet Atkins should be in the top 10 ok. There. But to the Stoners I 'spose, their wide library of knowledge and skills ain't what they call rock and roll.

I was surprised that Atkins and Knopfler weren't higher, and I gave up looking, but I didn't see Richard Thompson on there at all, he should be in the top 20 for sure.

Not surprising who the top 3 are. Hendrix, Clapton and Page. Thats where they usually are.

Clapton and Hendrix I can definitely agree with. And personally, I'd rank Brian May in the top ten as well.

I just saw Jeff Beck a month ago. He's definitely tops. Hendrix was good, but Clapton is better. Can't say there's too much I would argue here.

Greatest at what .. playing? John McLaughlin #68 could give most of these guys lessons. Chuck Berry #7, that must be a misprint.

I would put Ritchie Blackmore higher up the list, maybe top 10. I would also put Chicago's original guitarist Terry Kath (missing from the list) on the list in the top 50. Django Reinhart?
