In current comparison, ol' Doug sounds a lot like Chris (Seth Green) Griffin.

Ah Doug and the Slugs. I saw them at Country Living Days in Chilliwack when I was about 19. Back then we used to bitch about a beer costing a buck and a quarter in the beer gardens.

ha! I remember balking at the outrageous price of $10 to catch Neil Young at the PNE stadium in the early 70s, when you could get tickets for any other act at 5 or 6 bucks. I thought 'no way you s.o.b., your music ain't that good'.

Yep, paid $5.00 to see Trooper and Sweeney Todd, I think I paid $20 to see Def Leopard back in 80's and that was a few weeks before their drummer lost his arm. Remember Summer Sundays with bands like Supertamp and Heart?

Oh and by the way CDN Bear, Fcuk off! I am not old.

....

Not 'summer sundays' per se, but I did see Heart play in the bar on Broadway in Van (where they were the bar band before they hit it big). That was '72 or '73, after they were a mainstay on pop and fm radio. I think there may have been a $2 cover charge. I recall it was a good show, even if I can't conjure it up in my mind's eye.

I guess they still liked playing in that bar. Can't remember the name of it. There was a fire a couple years later and I don't know if they ever re-opened it.

lol no! it's for your hurt feelings! What made you think you're supposed to eat it?

Anyway, I recommend you don't, because Wiki says I'm off by a couple years on my Heart memoirs. I went to Van twice, each time for a year, first in '72 and again in '74, so it must have been '74 or '75 when I saw Heart at the bar on West Broadway.

Ya, well I used to go to this club in Montreal back in the 60's to watch Leonard Cohen play. Read his novels and would go out at night and wonder around to the places he talked about. Never went in that theater though.
