My boyfriend and I are moving to Toronto at the end of the month and we thought it'd be a good idea to ditch the home phone idea and just have two cell phones between us. I'm trying to figure out what company/plan is best for us right now; we'd probably be talking to each other more than anyone else but we'd also like to talk with other people locally and in our home town (which is also in Canada).

My friend who works with Rogers in Toronto suggested that we go with their $45 plan so that we'd get free calling between us no matter where either of us are in Canada and still get a decent amount of minutes for local calling. She also suggested getting the Samsung p207 phone since she uses it herself and has told us that it gets pretty good reception. I thought I'd look around to see what other cell phone companies offer but I do think that the Samsung p207 phone is a good deal since we can't really afford to shell out a lot of money at the moment (she said we can get a good rebate on it at Costco).

I'd appreciate any advice that you all can give me on either cell phone plans or the cell phone companies themselves. :D

The plan has been changed, go to Rogers.com or visit your local dealer is your best bet.

Ibelieve Rogers has a double your minutes promo for all family plans, which is a pretty sweet deal + you can add $12.00 to your account every month to speak with your friends outside of toronto for 100 minutes.
