AFAIK, Telus block WAP on their phones so you then you have to download it from telus WAPsite.

we do not block wap on our phones,I surf wap sites all the time, you can even download ringtones, the problem is the way the phones are made most of them put that downloaded ring tone in a folder that will not let you assign it as a ringtone. lol

I havent checked this myself but theoretically it makes sense. if u have a MOTO V710 u can use a bluetooth adapter for your computer to transfer .mp3 and MIDI files as well as pictures to your fone. AFAIK Telus hasn't blocked file transfer via bluetooth so this should work as i have a MOTO V551 (GSM which doens't change anything since its bluetooth thats involved not the wireless technology) and a bluetooth adapter and i use the file transfer all the time for pics/videos and ringtones. Only thing is u cant use Midway or PST 7.1 to transfer games cause both programs require a data cable and TELUS blocks file transfer via USB

On the topic of where the ringtones go, i believe that it goes to a temp folder that is routinely deletes unnecessary files

Actually, Telus did block the most part of the Bluetooth function on V710, and most customer were complaining on it.

Ok so guys, I have a Telus Mobility LG 3200, so can i download free ringtones through a WAPsite or get them by SMS or am i outta luck?

u can flash ur phone to better hardware, u need a data cable (ebay) and the software(surf the web tehre are tons of websites devoted to this) essentially when u download something to a telus phone it stores it on a temporary folder. if u flash teh phone to manufacturers firmware it should work fine. Ive heard of ppl who flashed the firmware on their 3200's

Like he has mentioned, cable + software.

But I do not recomment ppl to flash it if you're not sure what you're doing.

very true, if u noe somebody who can do it, better to get him to do it otherwise you might/will loose all/some of your phone information and may bust up your phone pretty bad. Also it voids the warranty though in my experience with phones it isnt really a worry

It depends on manufacturer.
I know that if you mod a Motorola, as long as it keeps the original serial number (CDMA/TDMA phones will be the ESN, GSM phones will be the IMEI), then the phone will still have the one year warranty. That I confirmed it with my Motorola Rep.

Hi, I have a Samsung SCH A670 Camera Phone. And I'm buying a data cable for it. Just wondering what software do I need in order to transfer free ringtones and applications over.

i think ur wasting your time, samsung fones are unhackable for the most part. Do a google search for datapilot software, it works for samsung phones but telus blocks the usb input so it wont work most likely.
