NHL partners with Bell Mobility and Bell Canada


NEW YORK (May 12, 2004) -- The National Hockey League today announced that it has signed a multiyear corporate partnership agreement with Bell Mobility. Bell Mobility becomes the League's "Official Wireless Telecommunications Service Provider in Canada." As part of the agreement, Bell Canada becomes the official local and long distance wireline telecommunications service provider.

Bell Mobility and Bell Canada have the right to use the NHL shield logo, as well as the collective use of the names, logos and uniforms of all 30 Member Clubs. Bell Mobility also can leverage League jewel events and marketing platforms such as NHL All-Star Weekend, NHL All-Star FANtasy, "Game On!" and "Cup Crazy."

Bell Mobility will offer hockey fans in Canada a host of wireless applications, including "NHL.com Mobile," a downloadable color Java product, complete with live scores, schedules, statistics, standings, and a customizable news ticker. Bell Mobility also will distribute downloadable logos, scoring alerts and an NHL-branded java video game. The Bell Mobility logo will receive prominent positioning on the "NHL Wireless" section of NHL.com.

The NHL also has partnership agreements with Bell Sympatico (Internet Service Provider) and Bell ExpressVu (Satellite Provider).

This is a whole new world of Cellular Technology, watch out for more interactive applications available to Cellular subscriber bases. Especially those with colour screen phones!
