Hey. I saw the z200 offered by Fido and really liked the look of it. The colours also seemed nice. Also I think Fido would be good for me since I do not expect to go out of the GTA and the per second billing is attractive. I was wondering if anyone here has tried the phone and what your thoughts about it are. If its really dreadful I could look at the z600, though I do not like its look and the camera is horrible and does not have cool faceplates like the ones available with the z200.

The z200 is definately unique looking! I've never personally owned a sony ericsson, but I know my Ericsson was a very durable thing!
I'm sorry I can't suggest fido. See other threads in this forum about fido. The prices are definately competetive. The service is just terrible though. Reception in the GTA is good though. Strange, when I had a fido, when I used it on my balcony (on the 14th floor) from Toronto, my calls showed up as originating in Woodbridge?! LOL

Hmm, I have gotten over my inftuation over the z200. Too many bad points. However I have decided to go with the z600 for the bluetooth, colour screen and camera.
If i get the phone from fido and get it unlocked will I be able to get it to work with rogers? I heard its really expensive. Also do they provide per-second billing?Since thats the only provider except Fido to provide GSM. Also are there any shops that sell unlocked phones in Toronto?

I have not seen this piticular product unlocked before. Due to GSM technology, you will be able to unlock it and use it with Rogers Wireless.

I've been in a little shop at Bloor and Yonge before which offers tons of really cool unlocked GSM phones. For use on Fido and Rogers. It's on the south east side of Bloor a couple steps from Yonge Street. Little shop, you can miss it if you arent looking for it. I went there about a year ago, don't know if it's still there -- if you're in that area, check it out!
Be warned though, unlocked a phone which isnt already unlocked might void your warranty, be sure to check that out first.

Samsungs are piece of junk... They never make anything that will last long enough for anything... However to make things better, the z200 is piece of crap as well. The coloured screen is labeled '4096' but it appears that it's running a 256 colour screen.. Crappy... Worst mobile ever released by SE.... I'm not a anti-SE but, I do have to admit that z200 is not worth your money... Samsung on the other hand isn't that great... It's a okay phone for people for who just want a phone that's small and have no functionality at all... This is the new mobile age! Can't they at least shove in IR to the damn phones?
One more thing... Never ever get a phone that is HYPED by the MARKET.. :P

I just got a good offer from student phone stores and I am glad I didnt get the z200, I found out it isnt even actually made by SE, just some comany that somehow got a licence. Must say I am happy with it, its really a wonder why Fido isnt publicising this phone, since it has sold out many times
