This poor girl who I wne to cadets with was found on our rails to trails here murdered, and our bumbling city police have yet to find her murdered, and believe me you...we are not swamped with murder cases...AARRGG! Oh the stories I could tell about my personal experiences with these city police would make your blood boil, not to forget that one was recently dismissed from the force on kiddie porn charges and 2 more suspended for DUI. Chrystal deserved so much better than this, and the RCMP have their hands tied because it is out of the juristiction. GRRR :banghead:

Sorry to hear that Manda.
But it happened 3 years ago. Sometimes the police need solid evidence before they can get their act togerther. Otherwise the crowns lawyer will throw out the case.

Yes, but if they had had any level of competence, it would have been dealt with and evidence accumulated long ago

Here's something that would cheer you up then. It's in todays paper (website down so no linky)

Man at Centre of Review of Woman's 2002 murder

A man in his early 40's is now at the centre of a police investivation into the murder of Chrystal Dawn Bearisto, Charlottetown police said on Friday.

"Right now, we're focusing primarily on one individual of interest." said Deputy Chief collins.

"We will continue to focus on that indivudual until the individual has either been linked to the investigation or has been exonerated."

Beairsto, a 23 year old mother of two, was found dead on July 28, 2002, in a wooded area near the confederation Trail in Charlottetown.

collins said this is the first time police have publicly said their focus is solely on one person in relation to the murder.... :? I'd type more but my wrist is now sore.

I think not said:
That's terrible, so young and a mom, very sad

there were "issues", the kids lived with her parents and I think that they were adopting them before everything happened and I think that they were pretty blissfully unaware of everything, given their ages. She was a very nice girl though and it just pisses me off that the idiot cops here are too busy getting busted for their own discretions to look into the crimes commited against the people that they were supposed to protect. I've had a few "discussions" with the chief of the city police...he doesn't like me very much  , I'm happy I've moved somewhere the RCMP are in charge. They should have been give jurisdiction on this case

As an update, there has finally been an arrest made in this murder. More to follow.

Also in recent P.e.i Judicial news, someone slashed their wrists in the courtroom today.

Interesting people here you know! 8O
