A New Brunswick woman got more than she paid for when she found a 5 cm worm in a can of store-bought peas.
Lina Corbin, who lives in Saint-Leonard, N.B., had just opened the can of Le Sieur peas when she "saw the little legs, and let out a loud 'no!'"
"It made me completely lose my appetite," she told QMI Agency.
When Corbin, 44, saw the nearly 5 cm worm sitting on the edge of the bowl she had dumped the peas in, she "couldn't believe it." Adding, "you would think that they would inspect this."
Corbin contacted Le Sieur parent company General Mills to draw attention to the problem.
"They said that they were sorry and that they would send me $25 as compensation," she said.
Unsatisfied by their response, Corbin hopes General Mills adopts more stringent hygiene practices before something even worse happens.

I'd like to know how a dead worm got up on the edge of the bowl, puffing a hookah and blowing smoke rings at her.
