If you had any choice of any food but had to cook it yourself, what would you make and how would you make it. I have heard of the perogies and headcheese (not on the same plate, right?) Looking for some new food ideas.

I'd make beef ribs on the bbq. I'd cut up some tatos and onions and put them in a packet to cook beside it. NUMMY.

Food topic at 7 a.m.?? Damn, GGreta ... I'd actually enjoy pretty much anything I didn't have to cook myself right now. Looks like I'm up for my specialty this morning, tho ... Honey Nut Corn Flakes with whole milk and a dollop of coffee cream. Yum.

My favourite food is samosas, but Peapod is the only one I've met who can cook them at home and have me drooling and following her around like a puppy.

Well, Missile, you and I could share ... I like white meat and french fries!

Be glad it's warm! This is only our second day of overcast and rain and already I'm whining. I'd take the heat any day!

I don't know, doesn't Pamela Anderson say that KFC Mistreats the chickens before they slaughter them? (Her words, the bimbo). I only eat at places where they treat the chickens like kings before they slaughter them.

The food doesn't taste abused to me..perhaps just a bit too greasy, tho I'm really doing a chicken strip fry sometime this PM and just adding rice and small veggies to the mixture[maybe even a potato.]

Ok, how about a nice cool dessert or drink idea instead.

Huge glass with ice
Take two shots vodka
One shot peach
Fill halfway with orange KOOLAID (trust me)
Fill almost rest of way with orange juice - stir well
top with a large scoop of orange sherbert

For lime flavour skip peach schnapps and add extra vodka (why not)
lime koolaid and lime sherbert - use sprite instead of juice.
OH GOD - and bubble says I don't believe.

Here you go Greta:

Baby Back Ribs

1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon paprika
salt and pepper to taste
3 pounds baby back pork ribs
1 cup barbeque sauce

Preheat grill for high heat.

In a small jar, combine cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Close the lid, and shake to mix.

Trim the membrane sheath from the back of each rack. Run a small, sharp knife between the membrane and each rib, and snip off the membrane as much as possible. Sprinkle as much of the rub onto both sides of the ribs as desired. To prevent the ribs from becoming too dark and spicy, do not thoroughly rub the spices into the ribs. Store the unused portion of the spice mix for future use.

Place aluminum foil on lower rack to capture drippings and prevent flare-ups. Lightly oil grate, and lay ribs on top rack of grill. Reduce heat to low, close lid, and leave undisturbed for 1 hour. Do not lift lid at all.

Brush ribs with barbecue sauce, and grill an additional 5 minutes. Serve ribs as whole rack, or cut between each rib bone and pile individually on a platter.

Vodka is basically tasteless,so it is a great mixer. But,on cereal..I never was that far gone as an alcoholic[and I've been clean and sober for over 15 years]

Hot in Saint John? You bet it is. Yesterday at 4pm, right at the harbour, it was 30C. Unusual.

I did ribs on Saturday night, using my mother's recipe...pineapple, ketchup, cinnamon, etc etc...simmer the ribs in the sauce, then finish them off on the bbq.

Yesterday it was scallops.

Tonight, something quick because the kids have soccer.

I had to slow the sauce thing down...for fear someday I would have to give it up....

Food.

Bring water to boil
Open box of KD, remover cheese flavour pouch.
Pour noodles into boiling water...
Allow noodles to cook, then drain.
Stir in cheese flavour pouch, add some milk and butter.
Eat.

Actually I'm a pretty darn good cook. My specialties are spaghetti sauce, ribs, and (after this weekend) homemade soups.

Eeewwwww .... sea bugs! That's what I figure crab and lobster look like. I don't like shellfish of any sort. About once a year I do enjoy a nice Atlantic lobster tail with steak, but other than that, I don't eat the stuff. I'm a very picky eater ... I only eat halibut, mahi-mahi or, rarely, fresh salmon (and only if I've cooked it myself).

I was vegetarian for years and am kinda heading back in that direction. I'm also a choco-holic ... thrive on the stuff! But I did have a big steak for dinner last night (although Moche the JR got most of mine).
