Book burning and banning in India

Apparently the far-right Shiv Sena party in India did not like the poor portrayal of their party in an award winning fictional novel. Their actions have lead to the banning of a book in a university, in the world's largest Democracy. Members of the student wing of the Shiv Sena party burned books, and put pressure on the University of Mumbai, whose vice-chancellor has now eliminated Such a Long Journey from the English Literature syllabus.

Pathetic.
