'Nuff said....I've lost the urge to spew out superlatives against the most villainous politicians there are on the planet in a day and age where the government's conscientiousness has all but zipped down to zero.

Now it's like people have to take up arms to help the rest of those left behind through private volunteer organisations, NGOs, philanthropists, foundations and yes, Oprah!

WTF are politicians doing?

We're experiencing a future of higher costs due to power players and having to work harder and earn more so that we all become dead droids by the time we come home which is probably why we aren't able to think or be even bothered about Minister X's account logs.

I've really lost interest in political analysis. All it is is a total waste of energy where we get to ding-dong all day about an individual who probably is only in it for the power and not to make a real change.

In Canada they want to be elected twice, collect full pay pension and live happily ever after. SO the rule is Vote as you are told, say what you have been handed and smile. HOW about making MPP, and MP expenses public information,--people should know that good old ???? took a government jet rather than a commercial flight and said it was cheaper because they have to fly so many hours---I REALIZE THAT ROOM AND FOOD FOR A DAY WILL RUN ABOUT $500 but when it hits $5000 ??

Hi Stretch,

I used to vote but I haven't in a while. If you look at Malaysian/Singaporean 'democracy' voting is really voting for the same old bastards back in office. So whether you vote or not really doesn't matter coz we basically work on a socialist system.

But having said that, major tidal waves are taking place in Malaysia as the opposition gets stronger and that's good news, for the short term, that is. The rest is to see how the party performs when they get the positions people have entrusted them to.

As for the long term, we will wait and see but what I'm really getting at is the issue Miss Annika brought up. She ain't bothered because she says she feels she doesn't have control over the issues. How many of us feel that way?

I would say a majority of the world's populations.

Political apathy from the people by the people can lead to political corruption and abuse. We, as the people need to keep our ministers in check.

Every politician must be transparent with his/her community in terms of how much they get, what they spend it on and what their other income sources are.

Every politician must be accountable for every citizen in his/her area of jurisdiction, that is, he/she must serve the community.

But I don't see a lot of ministers doing that. Well, at least locally. All it is is a free ride to a comfortable office, a fat salary, with huge allowances and attendances at corporate gatherings, parties, exhibitions etc etc etc

Some even tread the path of evil, being part of a corrupted government or getting involved in illegal activities which include claiming unduly rights to state lands, getting unbelievable discounts on public or private properties or other illicit stuff like money laundering, corporate fraud and even murder of enemies, in some cases, to cover up their hineys.

If these politicians are there to serve the community, they need to constantly be on the ground, giving hands-on help to those in need or at least giving them a personal jump-start to a more comfortable life.

I don't see that. Instead, I see volunteer groups run by regular individuals like you and I giving more of a rat's ass about what's going on with our communities and even friends around the world.

I see the need for gatekeepers for every politician to ensure he/she is doing the Spike Lee - that is 'Doing the Right Thing'....:)
