The UNSC has passed a resolution placing easily circumvented restrictions on Iran because it refuses to stop its NPT compliant uranium enrichment activities. Iran vows to continue to ignore American/Israeli threats.

Under the terms of the NPT, non-nuclear nations like Iran are guarenteed the right to peaceful nuclear technology like power genration. Iran remains in compliance of the NBT while it only enriches to power plant grade. Iran would violate the NPT if it enriched to weapon's grade. Iran has met all its NPT "obligations", but has failed to abide by some voluntary NPT protocols. As a result of IAEA's failure to carry out its mandate to assist nations seeking peaceful nuclear technology, Iran has decided to reduce its level of cooperation.

China and Russia made sure UNSC "sanctions" don't mention oil and exclude existing contracts. This resolution does not authorize miltary force...

Well, if China and Russia are making sure that any provisions enacted to contain Iran don't work, then it's equally the responsibility of the West to ensure trade is sharply curtailed with the two. Concomitant with any efforts on our part to control Iran's nuclear power ambitions is the expectation that those collaborating with the outlaw regime are isolated as well. We can all do our part. Starting this week we can return all gifts manufactured in China. And tell the retailers and their suppliers that Chinese made goods aren't acceptable here. Now what does Russia send our way? Besides spies, of course...

I was doing that 15 years ago. I eventually gave up as it became almost impossible to find certain things not made in China. I will still avoid buying made in China whenever possible.

At least you're doing your part. And I thank you! The West is complacent about the dangers posed by China. As China's purse grows ever larger and US credit expansion more and more dependent on the largesse of the Asian giant, one can only wonder what's being taught at high brow economics schools. I am not impressed.
