TWO British soldiers were killed and a third was seriously wounded in Iraq today.
The soldiers died when their patrol was hit by a roadside bomb north of Basra.
British military spokesman Major Charlie Burbridge said the identities of the men would be withheld until their families were notified.

Brit soldier dies in bomb blast in Afghanistan

A BRITISH soldier was killed and another seriously injured in a suspected suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan this morning, the Ministry of Defence has announced.
The blast happened when a four-wheel drive vehicle was driven at the convoy in the capital, Kabul, at around 10.30am local time.
The incident comes days after the death of 14 British troops when an RAF Nimrod plane crashed near Kandahar on Saturday.
In a statement released in London, the MoD said: “We can confirm that a UK military convoy has been attacked by a suspected suicide bomber in Kabul at approximately 10.30 local time this morning.
“Sadly, one UK soldier has been killed and another very seriously injured as a result of this attack.
“The injured soldier has been evacuated to a military medical facility for treatment.
“No further details of the incident will be released until next of kin have been informed.”
