Don Stewart-Whyte is the half-brother of supermodel Heather Stewart-Whyte

A supermodel once married to a former tennis champion, is related to one of the men arrested in yesterday's terror raids, it was revealed today.

Heather Stewart-Whyte, 36, is the half-sister of Don Stewart-Whtye, 19, who is among 24 suspects being held in connection with the plot to blow up a number of passenger planes flying from Britain to America.

Ms Stewart-Whyte was married to French tennis player Yannick Noah for five years during which time they had two children. However, they split acrimoniously in 2001.

She was once the face of Gucci, reportedly earning £1 million a year, and has appeared in fashion shows with Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss

Her half-brother Don converted to Islam six months ago changing his name to Abdul Wahid.

Their father Douglas, is believed to have been a Tory party activist. He died in 2000 aged 74. Heather is the product of her father's first marriage.

Today, she said she had never met her half-brother.

Don, was one of four suspects arrested in High Wycombe yesterday. The oldest of the named suspects is 35 and the youngest 17.

Thirteen of them are from east London - nine from Walthamstow, one from Chingford, one from Leyton, one from the Limehouse and Poplar area and one from Clapton. The other two are from Birmingham and Stoke Newington, north London.

Today the imam of Walthamstow mosque, where many of the suspects live, urged the Muslim community to remain calm and assist the police in their inquries. The unnamed imam added: "We'd like to remind people that the suspects are innocent until proven guilty."

Meanwhile, a senior Pakistani government official said today that two British nationals arrested in Pakistan provided information about the alleged UK air terror plot.

The UK remains on a "critical" level of alert against terrorism and air passengers at UK airports are expected to face widespread disruption again today following the introduction of new anti-terrorism measures yesterday including a ban on hand luggage.

The plot, which was described as an attempt to commit "mass murder on an unimaginable scale" by blowing up passenger jet, may have been thwarted just days before it was due to be carried out.

Pregnant woman arrested by terror police in her pyjamas

The youngest of the terror suspects arrested in the raids was a heavily pregnant woman from Hackney, London.

The Asian woman was taken by police handcuffed and still wearing pyjamas from a top floor flat in Denver Road.

It has been reported today that the woman, who has not yet been named, is the wife of Muslim convert Oliver Savant. Eye witnesses described her as five foot tall with braided hair.

One witness said: "I heard a man shout and then the door was knocked through. I looked out of the window and saw a team of armed officers - wearing helmets and goggles - pour out of a black unmarked Mercedes people carrier.

"There were another two vans full of police wearing bullet-proof vests. And there were two guys who looked like intelligence agents who were controlling things."

In another raid, a young woman and her six month-old baby was taken into custoday.

It is believed that terrorists were planning to use liquid explosives to blow up the aeroplanes and as a result, airport security checks are forcing mothers to taste their bottles of baby milk before boarding.
