Here's a thread for predictions.

1. America will be humbled. Again and again.

Believe it or not, folks, America is very divided. Until we have
a charismatic leader that will unite all sides, we will continue
to have close elections. But each time, Americans will
reconsider their unilateralism, their going-it-alone approach
will subside in the face of a very hostile world.

This is natural, because for every force there arises an
opposite and equal force. And so on.

2. The trends towards unity and separation will continue.

The trends toward unity comes in different guises. One is the EU.
Another is China's strong drive to take over Taiwan AND keep
the different provinces like Tibet and Sinkiang under their thumb.
Russia will recombine with Moldavia to change its constitution
for Putin to go another term.

The trends toward separation will be people like the Kurds, the Scottish homerule parliament, Canada's separationists talks, but semi-autonomous regions like Nunavaat will develope in other
countries as well.

3. World free trade will continue to hurt the socialistic belief
that people are entitled to some economic security.

4. Venezuela under Chavez will continue to have 2 countervailing tendencies. The outside business world will only seek to
invest in that country IF Chavez offers some guarantee of
stability and safety of ownership while he seeks to help his
people. These 2 things may end up at war with each other or
achieve some sort of compromise. It will all depend on
this charismatic leader's ability to allow an honest thriving
opposition party. And it will depend upon America staying out
of it. Perhaps America's greatest strategy would be to
apologize and offer assistance.

5. The trend of mankind is to create a more perfect human
being. We want to get rid of our inefficiency. We want to
get rid of our negative emotions. We know how this hurts us.
And so we make all sorts of rules to force this issue.
And in doing so, we willingly limit our own freedom.
And we will create the technology that will create a new
human race that has lost all of our badness ---in other words, a
very efficient organic, organized, thinking robot.

My prediction is that in three years, because of our disagreements and our inability to sit down and make the propper actions to save the planet, countries will start falling apart, so will the planet, and we'll all start playing the blame game resulting in war. China and India will never reach first world conditions that us westerners enjoy. The European Union and the US have to substantially reduce their quality of life to meet environment and disparity concerns, and it's obvious that neither of them want to make the first step. So were in a situation where the First world nations are losing grip, and countries like China and india want a better quality of life, and were promised a quality of life that won't be achieveable do to economic and environmental restrictions. Since nobody wants to give up their quality of life, and others are still trying to achieve this quality of life, tension between these Nations actions will head nowhere but to war. You'll see it in the news when the next middle eastern country with oil is invaded. The EU, US, China, India, and Russia are all going to want that oil, and need that oil, and if the US tries and take it all, they'll kill for that oil. Sharing our resources fairly will result in all of us living in second world conditions, with no profit margins or disparity, which is counter-capitalism. The only solution is that the last man standing gets the oil.

1. My theory is that during the next election, it will be crooked as hell and people will riot, they'll hold another election and the winner will unite the country under a fascist regime. Trying to convince Americans that their country is superior to unite them, is like shooting fish in a barrel.
5. The trend for a perfect human is a joke, as it's our imperfections that make us human. I'll never be controlled like a robot, and anyone who tries to push this kind of thinking will die a very bloody death by my hands if need be. My rights and freedoms matter to me more than anyone elses life, and they'll always come first. Western nations all have the same achilles heal, and that is we require massive supply chains, and chains can be broken. What do you suppose would be the result if we simultaneousely lost our oil, gas, electricity, and water? People would start fighting over the necessities of life. Divide and Conquer.

Here's a thread for predictions.

Resurrecting some predictions from a post dated December 17 2005
with some modifications.

1. The Hate America Zeitgeist will continue for both good and bad
reason. United States hypocrisy will energize America haters more than
other abuses in other countries.

Spain will deal with its separatists trends in Castille, Aragon, the Basques.
Mexico will deal with Indian provinces separating. Iraq will separate. In the manner that Yugoslavia did ---
not in the peaceful way that the Czechs split from Slovakia.

We want to get rid of any potential diseases by redesigning our own DNA.
Designer Genes. Better than Jordache Jeans.
We want to
get rid of our negative emotions. We know how this hurts us.
And so we make all sorts of rules to force this issue.
And in doing so, we willingly limit our own freedom.
And we will create the technology that will create a new
human race that has lost all of our badness ---in other words, a
very efficient organic, organized, thinking robot. That is our image of Perfection.
And however we deny it, that is where we will end.

Getting rid of our negatives will no doubt change who we are
and we will dimly understand who we were or remember who we were.

I like Alberta's Finest predictions best so far. The key to the planet's future lies in China. As it continues to grow in strength and influence and, most importantly, needs, it will be the major player in the future of our world.

I think there will be an attempt to impeach Bush.

The war in Iraq will not end till the current administration has been replaced and the Democrats will start a withdrawal.

The American dollar will suffer under the debt load, and it will drag the Canadian dollar and others down with it to a point. America and Resource based economies will recover but there will be pressure to drastically cut greenhouse gas emission which will slow the recovery.

China will try to be the next "America" but they will have arrived too late on the scene and other pressures will ruin their "dream".

Russia and what's left of the Warsaw Pact will join the European Union and Russia's abundance of oil will drive that economy to new heights.

I will win forty million on the lottery......just kidding..:)

Was Victoria, now Ottawa
Americans will wake up and impeach Bush for all his lies. America will be forced to accept the reality that they cannot win in Iraq.
The Con's will be kicked out and the Liberals will be in power again, with the NDP holding the balance. And the majority of Canadians will get what they want, our troops back home, facing the reality like the Americans will have to, that western governments can’t force their style of governing on eastern countries.
Kyoto will be ratified. The planet will continue to get hotter, and climatologist funded by oil companies will be exposed for the liars that they are.

Fine, I'll add my two cents worth:
1) In 2012, the US will buckle. Crippled by a pandemic, that originated in the research labs of China, the country will struggle to reassert itself but numerous world hotspots heating up at the same time visibly will sap its will and energy. The invasion of Taiwan will take it by surprise. The 'pandemic' will intensify and spread into Canada which will face invasion in 2014. Biological warfare will be in ascendancy and Chinese troops innoculated against the threat will easily impregnate BC and move onto Alberta.
2) Primitivism, the western world's most important cultural trend of the late 20th century and early 21st century, will come under fire as communities finally recognize the threat and take the action their governments won't. Youths playing rap music and using gangsta signs will be pursued and beaten. Parents housing teens and twenties that harbour the material will have their homes shuttered. Firms associated with the spread of the culturally toxic music and its belief system will be boycotted. Demands for civility and community responsibility will be front row centre. There will be a new onus on doing something good for your community.
Hey, that's a start!

Bush won't be impeached because there isn't a big enough majority of Democrats in Congress to get it done. So, you can throw that one out for sure.

And I predict that all of your wishful thinking about the U.S. falling on its sword won't be seen in any of your lifetimes.

Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell elope at Caesar's Palace.

Did anyone see the episode of Nip/Tuck where Rosie has sex with one of the Doctors? Now replace that visual with Donald Trump's...

I bet Nostradamus never saw that coming..or if he did, he just flat out refused to write it down...:laughing7:

I predict starting with the immediate future and getting later on:
that the States will continue to stick its nose in everyone else's biz. Chavez will continue to grab power till an American backed coup flattens his tires;
that China will continue to enjoy the boost in trade and its economy;
Africa will continue to be the scen of attempted genocides and of poverty;
people will continue to drive their SUVs and ice will continue to melt and cause the water to rise a few meters;
the hole in the ozone layer over Antartica will get bigger;
fresh water will become harder and harder to find;
China will become the next empire builders;
the States' pendulum will swing the other way and it'll try to become a model for socialism but as such things usually do, end up being a few elite rulers that are incredibly rich while the rest are extremely poor;
biodiversity will dwindle till there are only ants, cockroaches, flies, and spiders around representing the insect world and coyotes, bears, coons, and skunks representing the mammalian world and vultures, buzzards, crows, and ravens representing the avian world, etc;
people will eventually realize that gods n demons were an invention of their own and they wasted a lot of time following illusions;
I'll be gone and won't care;
etc.
etc.
etc.

I predict starting with the immediate future and getting later on:
that the States will continue to stick its nose in everyone else's biz.

The fallout of Bush's policy will begin to affect North America when the 5 tonnes of Cesium 137 powder that's missing finally comes up for sale to the terrorists. Sometime 20 years from now the descendants of the people Bush kills now get to breach "Fort Apache America" and our descendants start to get unexpectantly ill of radiation poisoning and cancer. Large tracts of Canada and the US become large tracts of Chernoble like prestine landscape where no life can survive, and our descendants will label these insurgents as terrorists who had no reason for the "unprovoked " attacks.

Bush is causing a delayed effect. He hopes for a carrier deck style surrender from the Arab nations he conquers, but that will never happen. Extreme military power is overwhelmingly irresistable, and that is what all this is about. He's trying hard to have a Hollywood style end to his presidency like dad, but that will never happen and he'd rather risk the future of America on it. This man does not understand other cultures and ideologies and that makes him very dangerous.

the States' pendulum will swing the other way and it'll try to become a model for socialism but as such things usually do, end up being a few elite rulers that are incredibly rich while the rest are extremely poor;

No. They can't keep up the fortress up forever since they can't monitor more than 2% of all goods entering the nation. They will eventually be preoccupied with an impossible nation wide radiation clean up. Best thing Canada can do is distance itself from it's war mongering neighbour, and advance policies in favor of Arabian nations who need help from US aggression. Maybe it's not too late for us.

The money changers (bankers) of the world will call in all their loans including the US's, which at the present is what.....3 or 4 trillion. We will find money to be quit scares, and another recession will take place. Bankers have done it every 100 years or so, and that time will soon be upon us again. If American's only knew that the Federal Reserve is neither federal or a reserve, it is nothing other than a privately owned bank, you would all realize that having a monetary system using debt based notes can not sustain itself. Canada is no different other than our debt is not as high. Any one that does any kind of investigating would know that all the wars that are going on, and that have taken place in the past are all funded by bankers, that means both sides of any war are funded by the same bankers....... all to create debt, debt that is owed to bankers, and that has been called in before and will be called in again at some point and time.......in the NEAR future.

The Debt thing.

Thinking aboudit.

Lots of headlines scream BIG BILLION DOLLARS OF DEBT.

However, the debt in ratio to the economy's GNP is what ?

Anyone know ?

The percentage might tell you how miniscule it is in proportion to the economy.

But that's not the currently accepted narrative of the zeitgeist.

Numbers only mean something when compared to other numbers.

Think aboudit.
