Kleptocracy Gov't.

Ok.....now we have a "label" we can use

might want to modity it with "fasco-kleptocracy-gov't"

(why?? because as it stands, US(G) does not fall completely into any one catergory.....(not that it ever does).....so something more inclusive is required. If we can't label it, how can one deal with it??

Perhaps Bush’s first term might have been a Kleptocracy, but ever since the last election, I've thought of the US as some kind of Narcocracy.

The author is right in what he says. Too bad there are not enough Americans with the balls to see the truth.

Bush is looking more like a dynasty, a kingdom, and the new Empire.
First Daddy, then the Evil One, and soon Jeb Bush. Without a break between GeorgeJr. and Jeb, ad then 8 yrs, with the 2012 date in that period when so many things might change and America will assert its dominance even more - I see an Empire.

It all depends on the next two elections. If American voters and election officails see the Empire idea as something that will increase their wealth, that being an American when America dominates means they get more stuff, or status on earth, they will vote for it, for the Empire , for Bush.

And it looks good to many. They are not weighing the morality, their karma, that will be further diminshed, the value of a stable natural environment , or their security from serious attacks on America against the building of an American Empire under Bush, or the like.

When a whole nation can dispose of morality and other concerns that war brings, and they have a leader with no boundaries when pursuing power and control and wealth, it doesn't look good for a time of peace on earth and good will towards all men and women.

They are going to be dissappointed if they do vote for an Empire of Bushdom. They won't have a day of rest again, nor will they ever feel secure again. It will be noisy and dirty and have more inequality that will bring civil violence, and it will not be prosperous, they will extend Americas resources to the max for the war efforts.

They would toss the megalomaniacs out if only they were given an alternative vision for life on earth other than crass materialism and gun-totin' hooliganism. We could have a life of peacefully toiling in technology and farming, a sort of blended natural existance that acknowledges our need for nature's essential biological systems on planet earth, that sort of ideal pastoral life with energy efficiency and clear skies -[do you remember how they were BLUE in the 1960s? ...

Its so close, and the catalyst to achieveing this nicer life is to reduce our use of fossil fuels. Then the Empire falls apart, all the Elites who control us now will lose their control. New faces appear, some from the ranks of ordinary people. \
Oil is the economy of the ruiling class now, we can beat them by finding other ways. Only 3% of the suns energy is not reflected away each day... Wind can do 25% of our energy needs in 10 years if we tried.

I just mean, its do-able to get away from fossil fuels and the reason we are not trying is because again, we have no balls.

good post. good thinking. Puts things into a more realistic perspective........as one (of many ) question has not been overtly posed to the public.---for a true and honest "vote" or reponse is:

Do "Americans" support their Gov'ts vision of global domination/imperialism???
...........what are the benefits to Americans with this "policy"???

............what are the liabilities ??? ( if they care enough about liabilities now. ........ for as an astute observer mentioned....in their view it is all about "me, I, us" at all costs)

Are "Americans "enamoured by their own "power" "influence" money and control they now weild.? (my guess would be yes.......as they flaunt it at every turn)--ergo their avid support for any "kick ass " policy. "try and stop us" is something else one hears more often ) "Doing something" for many in the US is aggressive action. and limited to that. Any other approach is seen as "appeasement" or too passive. (too many "Terminator " type movies in their formative years??? Toddlers cutting their teeth on military action dolls??)

There is a certain "pride" in believing they can now get away with anything they want. In a pathological way , it must make them feel very empowered. ........ergo the lack of respect for any other nation but the US.......and in turn serves to self glorify . Not many nations glorify their military as much as the US does. ....ergo a certain psychological mindset .

an interesting dynamic ....

some thoughts prompted by the previous post. Offers a different dimension.
