The US media has a great deal of power ...if it were able to use it constructively.
Whatever the media minmizes in its reporting is soon lost from the collective consciousness. What the media dramatizes (M.Jackson , runaway bride etc) remains in the forefront .

Media censorship is alive and well in the US. As most USers rely only on their media for information.......they are not able to discern if the information they are getting is complete.
(ergo the critical importance of sourcing out information from sources OUTSIDE the US now)
