..calling on the world's governments to pass a resolution against the US government, perhaps even requiring the current government to step down, in protest against the lik below from another thread in this forum? And if the resolution is violated, then military sanctions will be applied to the US?

How effective do you think such a petition would be, and do you think it's realistic to believe that such a resolution could even pass?

Your thoughts.

RE: Ought we start petiti

A resolution like that would never make it past the Security Council...the US, and likely Britain, would veto it.

Petitions like that can be effective if they get noticed by a major media outlet. They won't change what the US is doing, but they can influnce non-American politicians.

RE: Ought we start petiti

What real country would that be, Detroit? You mean the one headed by war criminals? You mean the one that illegally invaded a sovereign state under false pretenses? You mean the one that uses banned weapons such as DU and napalm? You mean the one that has continually tried to undermine the aurthority of the UN? You mean the one that has become most disliked country on earth?

Real nations don't act like schoolyard bullies, Detroit.

I have a question, and maybe you can answer it Rev...

Why hasn't the international community worked towards revoking their UN Charter? That would solve 2/3 of the problem with the UN Security Council having their resolutions vetoed by an obvious rogue state...and perhaps then the world could coalesce towards a multilateral solution by sanctioning the living $h!t out of this errant super-power...

Would not the American people wake up then?

What if it all is a charade?

What if France and Germany bad-mouthed the US just for their domestic audience because of having such large Muslim populations?

What if "World" banking authorities were behind this invasion of Iraq and any "political" opposition within Europe is just for T.V. Land?

No European country has publicly asked for a boycott of American products.
All those countries which bad-mouthed the US still have not suggested any sort of sanction against America. Not one!

The complete "Western" economy rides upon this Iraq invasion.
The West needs a "secure" source of oil and to have that oil sold for U.S. greenbacks or Euro's ..... definitely not Dinars!

I still buy American products myself.
