UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United States and Britain have pressed U.N. Security Council members to pass swiftly a resolution on Iraq's future but have rejected a proposal by France to give Iraq more control over U.S. troops.

Encouraged by a generally receptive attitude, Washington and London want the council to vote on Tuesday on the revised draft -- the fourth in two weeks -- in the hope it will win unanimous support among the 15 council nations.

boys and girls! don't expect anything the US wants to happen swiftly... no, not with France, Germany and Russia having a say in it.

France has some good thoughts on it, and iraq should be given more say in it!

Diplomats are useful only in fair weather. As soon as it rains they drown in every drop.
