U.S., Russia seal Syria ceasefire deal, military partnership

GENEVA -- The United States and Russia early Saturday announced a breakthrough agreement on Syria that foresees a nationwide ceasefire starting next Monday, followed a week later by an unlikely new military partnership between the rival governments targeting the Islamic State and al Qaeda.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said shortly after midnight that the plan could reduce violence in Syria and lead to a long-sought political transition, ending more than five years of bloodshed. He called the deal a potential "turning point" in a conflict that has killed as many as 500,000 people, if complied with by Syria's Russian-backed government and U.S.-supported rebel groups.

The ceasefire begins at sundown Sept. 12, Kerry said, coinciding with the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday.

Kerry's negotiating partner, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, confirmed the agreement and said it could help expand the counterterrorism fight and aid deliveries to Syrian civilians. He said Syrian President Bashar Assad's government was prepared to comply.

"This is just the beginning of our new relations," Lavrov said.

The ones already transferred would probably want to go back home once they taste 'western hospitality' and there is the coming implosion of the west that will have to be dealt with.

There is always deception on the part of the US and the term 'political transition' that is ominous as far as what it actually means.

Even if this ceasefire holds there are thousands upon thousands of refugees in limbo all over europe that have to land somewhere and don't forget libya that other nato inspired refugee generator that is churning out more north bound refugees daily. Nato actions have weakened europe considerably yet they continue to embrace this outdated alliance in search of reason to exist.

Might still be a good idea.

Except a majority voted for it so yeah it is required.

The smart ones with any nationalistic pride will.

That's a personal choice by each individual.

Funny how all the major battle fields in Syria seem to be major pipeline routs, like in Iraq they were around major oil fields and in Afghanistan...pipelines....

They say Obombads like being on the pipe
bush and cheney twos
though Bill was more about layin pipe
Hillary, well she likes flues

Or build any walls.
Yeah, because this will also end illegal immigration.

Or have a Brexit.
Funny how you leftards were all about self-determination for so many years, and now that Britain has decided it would rather return to the days of self-determination, suddenly they're racists.

Or vote for Donald Trump.
Trump didn't send any troops to Syria. But guess who approved of sending troops to Syria, and Iraq. Guess who armed the anti-Assad forces that turned out to be primarily al qaeda and ISIS.

Or be a racist xenophobe.
Yeah, because being against mass immigration just for the sake of having mass immigration with no real rhyme or reason to it is an obvious sign of a racist xenophobe.

And just think, Obama won't have to send anymore "drone mail" to Syria, which should be a huge relief to those on the left who have big problems with the morality of using bomber drones. Except when a Democrat unleashes them, apparently.

The man is already an international joke. If Trump is elected, it will re-affirm what most around the world know already ... that the American public are the stupidist people on the planet and damned proud of it!

The fact of the matter is, either Trump or Hillary will be poison for the US.
You know who I feel bad for? The Young Americans who will get to vote for their first time in the this election, and look at the f*cking absolute garbage they get to choose.
Meanwhile, Hillary wants to kick the Middle Class squarely in the nuts again with her tax hike to "make them pay their fair share". I mean seriously, she can't think of ANY other economic class that really needs to start paying their fair share?
Then there's Hillary's insistence that she deserves to be President. I always get a little nervous when high powered politicians talk like that. It doesn't just smack of entitlement and privilege, it's what a totally self-serving, self aggrandizing, self-centered megalomaniac would say. She's also a compulsive liar. Now, we all know that politicians lie, that's part of the game, but Hillary lies ALL the time. She even lies about stuff that there's absolutely no need to lie about.

Pro-tip: If you're going to make fun of a people's intelligence, you really shouldn't misspell "stupidest.;-)

Pretty much the reason why the U.S. desperately needs immigration.

There are too many people already living there that are dumb as fukk and they need all the help they can get.

Washington is not ready for an agreement with Moscow on Syria. The United States is using talks to buy time to help militant groups entrapped in eastern Aleppo, an analyst said.

On Friday, talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his US counterpart John Kerry resulted in a package of documents on the Syrian crisis. According to Washington, the agreement will be stable only if Damascus and opposition forces will observe it. "As I see, details of the agreements are not clear so far. But I don’t think the US is trustworthy. The Americans wanted to negotiate in Geneva in August but then the Syrian Army made advances and they started to delay talks. The US needs a pause in Aleppo to help its allied groups in eastern Aleppo," George Messi from the American University of Science and Technology in Beirut, told RIA Novosti.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Several Israeli ambulances entered Syria's Southern province of Quneitra and transferred those terrorists injured in clashes with Syrian Army troops to their hospitals in the occupied part of the Golan Heights, media sources said.
"First, Israeli warplanes bombed Syrian government's positions near Quneitra to back the terrorists of Fatah al-Sham (the newly-formed al-Qaeda-linked terrorists group previously known as the al-Nusra Front) who had attacked the Syrian army positions to prevail over the government's position," the Arabic service of RT reported.
"After Fatah al-Sham's attacks were repelled by the Syrian soldiers, seven Israeli ambulances entered the battlefield and transferred a number of wounded terrorists to Israeli hospitals in the occupied Golan Heights," RT added.
On Saturday, the Israeli air force violated the Syrian airspace again and launched airstrikes on an army base in Quneitra province hours after Fatah al-Sham Front started a massive raid in the same province in Southwestern Syria.

The militant group, which has evaded being labeled a terrorist organization thanks to US veto in the UN Security council, announced that it will not comply with the ceasefire negotiated by US Secretary of State john Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The announcement has been made by the group's top ranking member on a video uploaded to their YouTube website. In the video, Ali al-Omar, group's deputy leader claims that the truce will only "reinforce" the government of Bashar Al-Assad and "increase the suffering" of civilians. "The Russian-American deal… will send all the sacrifices and gains of our people who have risen up into smoke. It will only serve to reinforce the regime and surround the revolution militarily," al-Omar says in the video.

It would work better if the security members didn't get to vote at all and let all the other Nations decide which actions are condemned and the Security Council is the \arm' that enforces the resolutions. With their citizens being the ones putting their lives on the line they would be the opting for political solutions over military ones.

Can you really envision security council handing over the reins, it's a big boys club and they like it that way.
