US: NKorea missile launches violate UN resolutions

WASHINGTON (AP) - The United States says Scud missile launches Monday by North Korea are a violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions.

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki (SAH'-kee) said the North launched two such short-range ballistic missiles from its southeast coast Monday morning that landed in the sea.

It is the second reported launch of short-range missiles by North Korea in less than a week, amid ongoing annual military exercises between South Korea and the U.S.

Psaki said the U.S. is closely monitoring North Korean activities and intentions.

She urged North Korea "to refrain from provocative actions that aggravate tensions" and to abide by its commitments under multiple Security Council resolutions regarding its ballistic missile and nuclear programs.

Psaki told reporters that "Scud missile launches are a violation" of the resolutions.

Who is this f*cking UN dude that thinks he rules all the sovereign nations of the world? I think we should find him and remind him what 'sovereign nation' means. Ya know, explain the bit about sovereign meaning free to govern themselves without interference from other nations and that such interference could be interpreted as an act of war under the Geneva conventions (which N Korea isn't a party to so are not bound by them anyway). Really folks....isn't it time we fed our own starving and worried about what happens in our own back yard and what our government is doing that is illegal and unconstitutional instead of being concerned with some tribal feud in SE Asia or the middle east. Of course our govt wants us to concentrate on far away places and events so we don't see how they do illegal and unconstitutional things here.
